Quick answer

BestLoanForYou is a free loan-matching service, not a lender. Lenders in our network pay us a referral fee when we pass along your request; you never pay us. Our guides and calculators are written from primary sources, show those sources on the page, and are updated when the rules change.

Who we are

BestLoanForYou.com is operated by IM Leverage, LLC dba BestLoanForYou.com, 15621 West 87th St. Pkwy, PMB 344, Lenexa, KS 66219. You can reach us at [email protected] or (800) 236-7761. We run two things: a matching service that passes a loan request to lenders who may be able to help, and a library of guides, calculators and state-by-state loan rules that anyone can use without filling out a form.

How we make money

The service is free to you; lenders pay us a referral fee. That is the whole business model, and it is why the form exists. It also creates an obvious conflict of interest, so here is how we handle it:

  • We are not a lender and do not make credit decisions. A lender decides whether to make you an offer and sets the APR, fees and term, and it must disclose them in writing before you sign.
  • Our guides do not name, rank or recommend individual lenders or quote lender-specific rates, so a referral fee cannot buy a better spot on a page.
  • Short-term products (payday, cash advance and title loans) cost far more than other credit. Our pages say so plainly and list cheaper options first, such as credit union payday alternative loans, payment plans, nonprofit credit counseling and 211.
  • If a product is not allowed in your state, we say so and do not match you for it.

See how matching works, our lender standards and the privacy policy for exactly who receives the information you submit.

Editorial policy

Our pages are written and maintained by the BestLoanForYou editorial team. Every page follows the same rules:

  • Primary sources only. Rates, caps, fees, statutes and "legal in your state" statements come from the regulator, the statute or a federal agency such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, the National Credit Union Administration or the Federal Reserve. Each page lists its sources with the date we checked them. State rules are kept in one dataset with the regulator's link and retrieval date, and the state and city pages are built from it.
  • No statement without a source. If we cannot source a number, we leave it out rather than estimate it.
  • Estimates are labeled. Calculator results and example loans are labeled as examples or estimates, show the formula used and include the APR and term.
  • No promises we cannot keep. We never promise approval, a rate or a funding time. Lenders decide.
  • Updates. Each guide shows when it was last updated. When a federal or state rule changes, we update the state dataset and every page built from it.
  • Corrections. If you find an error, email [email protected]. We verify it against the source and fix it.

Content on this site is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice. If you are struggling with debt, a nonprofit credit counselor (find one through the National Foundation for Credit Counseling at nfcc.org) can review your situation for free or at low cost.
